Church Pastor
Matthew Adrian
Matt has been a part of First Baptist Church of San Diego since July 2023. He is passionate about helping people take the next step in their spiritual journey. He believes that faith should be both meaningful and relevant, and he strives to communicate the Bible and Jesus in a way that is both deep and engaging.
Matt is also committed to creating a church where people feel comfortable and known. He believes that the church should be a place where people can come to grow in their faith, connect with others, and make a difference in the world.
Matt and his wife, Jenn, have three children: Katherine (born 2017), Elizabeth (born 2018), and Timothy (born in 2021).

Preschool Director
Jodi Winkle
Jodi Winkle is the Director of the Lighthouse Early Education Center. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and additional training in Early Childhood Education. Jodi has been in the field for more than 15 years and has a huge heart for her students.

Bookkeeper
Jeanne Conner
Jeanne has been an FBC faithful since 2015. Her passion for detail and "getting it right the first time" made her an ideal candidate for becoming the church Bookkeeper in mid-2024. She brings, along with her bookkeeping and finance skills, a love for the mission of FBC to be the light of Christ to University City and to the greater city of San Diego. "What can I do to help?" is her favorite saying and, as a result, she contributes to various other administrative and tech ministries at the church as well.

Children’s ministry Director
Jill Colon
Jill Colon has attended FBC since 2012. She became the Children’s Ministry Director in 2019. Jill has a heart & talent for engaging children and families while teaching God’s word.

Worship Leader
Peter Hodgen
Peter joined the First Baptist Church team in January 2024 and transitioned to a full-time role in June. Passionate about music and dedicated to leading people into authentic worship experiences. Peter is enthusiastic about shaping the future of Peter is happily married to his wonderful wife, Alecia, and they are blessed with two amazing children, Ella and Truett.

Executive Assistant
Nancy Loomis
Nancy has attended First Baptist Church since 2007. Over the years she has served in several capacities that include the Church Nursery, teaching crafts in Vacation Bible School, Missions Team Coordinator, Hospitality Team and FBC's Board Treasurer. She has a focus on bringing God's word to the next generation and is excited that her daughters and granddaughters also attend FBC.

Assistant Children’s Ministry Director
Kari Jacobs
Kari has three extraordinary daughters and one fantastic beagle. She was born and raised in San Diego, moved several times but is now back home! Kari has an extensive educational background with multiple degrees. She loves to travel with her girls or just hang out watching movies or playing games. Kari is very excited to be a part of the First Baptist family and ministry!
